Farmhand

A Farmhand is one of the most important working roles within United Land & Ag. Farmhands are the backbone of daily farm operations, working alongside other Farmhands, Foreman, and Managers to ensure fields are maintained, crops are produced, equipment is properly operated, and work gets completed efficiently. Farmhands should be willing to jump into whatever job is needed, whether that means harvesting, transporting materials, feeding animals, or helping another player complete an important task.
Farmhands may be responsible for mowing, baling, windrowing, harvesting, and collecting crops. They may operate tractors, combines, forage harvesters, balers, loaders, trailers, and other equipment appropriate for the job. Farmhands also assist with grain hauling, silage production, livestock support, storage management, loading and unloading, production deliveries, and keeping farmyards and fields organized.
A good Farmhand understands that farming is a team effort. They are expected to communicate with other players, follow work assignments, ask questions when they are unsure, and help keep operations moving instead of waiting for someone else to do the work. Farmhands should take care of the equipment they operate, repair, refuel and return vehicles and implements to the proper locations, avoid unnecessary damage, and make sure fields and work areas are left in an orderly condition.
Farmhands also play an important role in supporting newer players. Experienced Farmhands can demonstrate proper equipment operation, explain farm procedures, and help newer Farmers learn how ULA operates. They should lead by example through respectful communication, responsible equipment use, realistic farming practices, and teamwork.
The Farmhand position is also an opportunity to become familiar with the different operations throughout United Land & Ag. Depending on the server, a Farmhand may gain experience with grain farming, silage, livestock, equestrian operations, business and production, logging, or MF gold mining. Learning different jobs and equipment allows Farmhands to become more valuable members of the community and prepares them for greater responsibilities as they progress.
Most importantly, a Farmhand is expected to be dependable, respectful, productive, and willing to help. Whether you're running a tractor across a field, hauling a load of grain, helping harvest a neighbor's crop, preparing feed for livestock, or simply stepping in when another player needs assistance, your work matters. Farm Foreman
(Member, site foreman)
A Farm Foreman is a trusted and experienced leader within the United Land & Ag community who helps coordinate daily farm operations and keeps the team working efficiently. Farm Foremen take on greater responsibilities than Farmhands and are expected to be dependable, organized, and capable of working independently while also guiding new Farmers and Farmhands. They help ensure that assigned work is completed properly, equipment is used responsibly, and the farm continues to operate smoothly.
Farm Foremen may coordinate field preparation, planting, fertilizing, spraying, mowing, baling, harvesting, hauling, livestock care, silage production, equipment operation, and general farm maintenance. They help determine what work needs to be completed, organize players around larger tasks, and make sure important jobs are not overlooked. Depending on the server, they may also coordinate specialized operations involving grain, silage, livestock, equestrian activities, business and production, logging, or MF gold mining.
One of the Farm Foreman's most important responsibilities is leading and supporting the farm team. They should be willing to answer questions, demonstrate proper equipment operation, assist newer Farmhands, and help players understand farm procedures. A good Foreman leads by example, showing others how to work safely, communicate effectively, care for equipment, and maintain realistic farming practices.
Farm Foremen are expected to take initiative. Rather than waiting for every task to be assigned, they should recognize what needs to be done and help organize the appropriate players and equipment. Whether a field needs plant, harvesting, grain needs hauling, a silage bunker needs packing, livestock needs attention, or equipment needs to be moved, the Farm Foreman helps coordinate the operation and keeps everyone moving in the right direction.
Farm Foreman are also responsible for equipment and resource management. They help ensure that tractors, combines, trailers, implements, trucks, loaders, and other equipment are being used appropriately and are available when needed. Foreman should monitor equipment usage, help coordinate repairs and refueling when necessary, and make sure expensive machinery is being treated responsibly.
Communication is a major part of the role. Farm Foremen should keep new Farmhands, and other leadership informed about important work, delays, equipment requirements, and completed assignments. They should help prevent confusion by giving clear instructions and making sure players understand their responsibilities before larger operations begin.
Farm Foremen are also responsible for helping maintain organization and accountability. Equipment should be fixed, fueled and returned to the appropriate locations, vehicles should only be used for their intended purposes, fields and farmyards should be kept orderly, and assigned work should be followed through to completion. When problems occur, the Foreman should approach them calmly and work toward a solution rather than creating unnecessary conflict because Foreman also represent a standard of United Land & Ag. They are expected to demonstrate respect, professionalism, teamwork, patience, and responsibility while working with other players. They should encourage cooperation, help resolve minor disagreements, and create an environment where new Farmers and Farmhands feel comfortable asking for assistance.
The Foreman role is an important step toward greater responsibility within ULA. It recognizes players who have demonstrated that they can not only complete farm work but also organize people, manage operations, mentor others, and take responsibility for the success of the team.

Farm Manager
(Staff, industry Manager)
A Farm Manager is a senior leadership role within United Land & Ag, responsible for overseeing the overall operation, organization, and productivity of a farm. Farm Managers work closely with new Farmers, Farmhands, and Farm Foremen to ensure that daily operations are planned effectively, work is completed efficiently, and the farm continues to grow. They are trusted to make important decisions, coordinate larger projects, and keep the entire operation moving in the right direction.
Farm Managers oversee crop production, livestock operations, silage production, equipment, transportation, field management, storage, production, and general farm organization. They help determine what needs to be planted, when fields should be worked, which equipment is required, where products should be transported, and how available resources should be used. Their responsibility is not simply to complete individual jobs, but to understand and efficiently manage how every part of the farm works.
A major responsibility of the Farm Manager is planning and coordinating the workforce. Managers work with Farm Foremen to organize new Farmers and Farmhands into productive teams and ensure that everyone has meaningful work to complete. They may assign fieldwork, coordinate harvest operations, organize hauling crews, schedule livestock responsibilities, or oversee large-scale projects that require multiple players and machines.
Financial and business management is another important part of the position. Depending on the server, Farm Managers may help oversee farm finances, crop sales, production expenses, equipment purchases, property, contracts, and long-term investments. They should make informed decisions that support the continued growth and stability of the farm rather than focusing only on short-term gains.
Farm Managers should also understand the importance of long-term planning. They may help establish planting schedules, harvest plans, livestock expansion, production goals, equipment upgrades, and future farm development. A successful Manager looks beyond today's work and considers what the farm needs to succeed tomorrow, next season, and throughout the year.
Leadership and communication are essential qualities for a Farm Manager. Managers should communicate clearly with Foremen and farmhands, provide direction when needed, listen to concerns, and help resolve operational problems. They should remain calm under pressure and be willing to make difficult decisions when the situation requires it.
Farm Managers are also expected to mentor and develop leadership within the farm. They should help Farm Foremen become better leaders and provide guidance to Farmers and Farmhands who are learning new responsibilities. A strong Manager creates a team that can operate effectively even when they are not personally present for every task.
Depending on the ULA server, Farm Managers may oversee different types of operations, including grain farming, silage, livestock, equestrian operations, realistic business, PC business, logging, or MF gold mining. Each operation has different requirements, but the Manager's responsibility remains the same: organize the people, equipment, resources, and goals necessary to make the operation successful.
Farm Managers also represent the standards and values of United Land & Ag. They are expected to demonstrate professionalism, fairness, respect, responsibility, and strong teamwork. Managers should lead by example and ensure that the farm remains an enjoyable, organized, and productive environment for everyone involved.
The Farm Manager position represents a significant level of trust and responsibility within ULA. It is not simply a higher title—it is a leadership position requiring organization, decision-making, communication, accountability, and the ability to manage both people and operations.
